What Used to be Great Isn’t Good Enough Anymore
January 5, 2017We got our start in Lincoln’s Haymarket and it’s been fun to see all of the growth and expansion down there. Pinnacle Bank Arena gave birth to all the new hotels, restaurants and bars. HUDL is going nuts. Nebraska Global is doing some great things. It’s a fun, happening environment, but I’ll let you in on a little secret: We’re pretty happy with our little community at Turbine Flats.
Just east of UNL and just south of Innovation Campus, Turbine Flats is located in an old Cushman facility at 22nd and Y streets. The building has some great history toit, but the exciting thing is its role as one of the ideas hubs in Lincoln. Rent is less than a third of what we paid downtown and free parking is plentiful. In fact, if you have visited here before on a rainy day, you should know we have a brand new paved parking lot with freshly painted spaces … and great drainage. (Inside joke … it wasn’t always that way!)
High speed internet, server space, shared conference room and a brand new workout facility come standard. But what’s extra ordinary here are the people … it really is a fun community of entrepreneurs who are doing and trying new things. If you’re thinking about starting a new business and find yourself trying to have techie or business related conversations with people who aren’t quite as passionate about it as you are, you ought to check out our community at the Flats. There’s a good chance you’d fit in here.
